FAQ

The questions people actually ask us

Pricing, fees, payout times, splitting, tax. If an answer is missing, write to us: we'll add it.

How much does Pourboire.io cost, exactly?
Three plans: Solo at €29/month (1 to 3 servers), Team at €49 (4 to 10 servers), Pro at €79 (more than 10 servers). No commission is taken on tips: the amount the customer leaves reaches the team in full. The first 30 days are free, with no commitment.
Who pays the card fees?
The establishment, as with any card payment. Taking a payment costs fees, whether it goes through your bank or Stripe. We chose Stripe so we don't depend on any bank: no merchant account to open, no terminal to rent, no contract to renegotiate. These fees are never deducted from the tip paid to the team and appear on your payout statement.
When does the money reach the team's account?
The payout is automatic to the establishment's connected account, on Stripe's standard schedule: a few business days, not instantly. The detail of each payout is available in the dashboard.
Does the customer have to install an app?
No. They scan the QR on their table with their phone camera, pick an amount and pay by card. No account, no app, no signup.
Do I need to change my till or plug anything in?
No. Pourboire.io lives alongside your till: one QR per table, one dashboard, nothing to install on the restaurant's equipment. That's also the product's boundary: we can't read your average ticket.
How are tips split between servers?
The QR is placed on the table, not on a person: the tip goes into the team pot. The establishment defines the split (equal shares, by service or by role) and the app locks the shares in at the moment of payment. Each server sees their share in their history.
What about VAT, payroll contributions, declaration?
The tax and social treatment of tips depends on your situation and is your accountant's responsibility. We provide a detailed, exportable history per server and per period, so the declaration doesn't depend on a hand-rebuilt spreadsheet.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. The trial lasts 30 days, then the subscription is monthly with no fixed term. You cancel from the dashboard and it takes effect at the end of the current period.
